>and now they're taught as myths
By the Church?
Or as they say, Church™?

So right off the bat, a contrast. Now, the Bible™, every now and then, mentions a particular apostasy, a great delusion incoming, many false prophets (we’ll know them by their fruit), a great dilemma for the righteous elect, faced with a brave new world ready for harvesting.
>brave new world
But as a Christian™, I am dead to the world™ and born again, into the spirit. Day in and day out. Die, born again, die, born again, non stop.

So for me the dilemma is solved. Just work with pic related. Scripture is to be tooken literally as in this happened as an historical event, and it happened in a certain way that we are able to convey the event in a manner where it directly applies to you anagogically, an historical event which is also a symbol for future events and situations.

>Christians can’t see beyond the surface
Is this why we compare Job to a type of Christ? The Chaldeans and bandits that raided his property to the Pharisees and Saducees? But how can someone who denies the spiritual and mystical even begin to approach scripture anagogically?

Imagine not being able to exegete scripture and only ever get the literal historical meaning behind it.
