The general attitude towards Peterson on here (at least from what I've seen) is always hostile. People call him a 'pseud' and 'self-help guru' but from what I've seen of him he seems to be a well-spoken, intelligent man with the credentials to back him up.

His 'self-help' stuff is actually very inspirational to young men such as myself and it gives us the incentive to become productive members of society with a purpose instead of the nihilistic resentful loser that is all too common these days. Besides, trying to portray him as a self-help guru on the level of people like Tai Lopez or those 'Ten Ways to Get Rich Quick' ads is downright disingenuous; Peterson is one of the most cited and well known psychologists in the world, he has taught at Harvard and teaches at the University of Toronto, for fuck's sake, he has actually thought through his views and backs them up with evidence. If that's being a self-help guru, then the Stoics and every other philosopher who talked about how life should be lived is also a self-help guru.

As for him being a pseud, I think anybody who says this is either a) an actual pseud who thinks he will gain credibility by talking shit about intellectuals or b) someone who thinks deep intellectual discussion can only be held in the infallible walls of the university classroom and out of public view, thus any intellectual who is popular and well known must not really be an intellectual.
