Publishers' only aim is to make money. They are not going to invest in an author with known "issues." For one, Bakker played hardball with the edits for the last two books (which I am immensely thankful for. Imagine if TUC came in a watered-down, palatable R-rated edition; it would be butchery).

The best option is to self-publish. There's no shame in it in this day and age, and it provides a freedom from censorship that mainstream publishing can't allow.
