Any good modern philosophy books that engage with the possibly coming revolution of physics where relativity will decrease in significance, even refuted? I'm genuinely excited that we might be around to see an actual revolutionary paradigm shift in science.

Should you even submit if you're a new author?

Using big words when you don't have to makes things more complicated than they need to be. Making things more complicated is a sign that you lack intelligence; if you're able to communicate a complex idea and make someone understand it - that's typically a sign that you understand the idea and have the proper intelligence to communicate it in a way that most people can understand.

This quote applies just as much to storytelling as it does to explaining concepts. Complexity is literally only useful for when you don't want to be understood. The entire point of a story is to be understood. If you need complexity; you're a bad writer.

Complexity adds nothing to a story.
Tolkien wrote an incredibly simple story. And people still didn't understand even basic concepts laid out in plain text within it. Just look at the LotR movies. Nobody could've read the books and understood even the simplest messages in it and reached the conclusion that those were "good" adaptations, yet that's what they were praised for being.
Also, incidentally, Tolkien would lament when people didn't understand his story, and note this lack of simplicity as a flaw.

The point of a story is to be understood. If you can't make yourself understood, you've failed at telling a story. The goal of a story is to make it as simple as possible while still conveying its intended message. Complexity is literally a flaw.

Again, the ONLY reason to make a story complex, with complexity a goal in itself, is because you're not interested in being understood. The pursuit of complexity is basically the pursuit of deceit. Which, indeed, is -litearlly- how it is used in reality. You express yourself with unnecessary complexity when you DON'T want to be understood, because you're doing something malicious.

There's absolutely nothing positive to say about complexity. It's at best a necessary evil.
