How to write nonfiction well?

I'm tasked to write some articles over the next couple of months on specific topics of philosophy. It'll be written in English. English isn't my native tongue.

I studied philosophy and on the surface I'm aware how a philosophic essay is written. However I always felt dwarfed by the style of my professors and their concise way of introducing to topics, to investigate the problem at hand to inject other people's thought appropriately into the text as the systematic investigation goes on.

My homework and even my thesis was, in my opinion, badly written. Especially from a stylistic perspective.

I want to improve my writing style, as well as my approach to a topic, with respect to academic/journalistic writing, less so fiction/ creative writing.

Can anyone here please help me, give some pointers, maybe some resources? Good introductory texts on writing philosophic articles? My inability to express my thoughts concisely begins to depress me.

If you're going to stoop so low as to accept the shitheads that come out of universities these days then you're going to have a horrible time of it. We're useless. I can't write sad fiction because when I do I cry so hard I can't see what i'm writing.

Any writers know this feeling?
