ACTUAL artist girls are awesome, just because people who take their craft seriously and have reached a high level of skill are generally well functioning people and nice to be around. the pretension and shallowness usually comes from the girls who are attracted towards art school or the "art life" as a means of making their life like their favorite foreign kino, which is genuinely what they think of, present themselves, and how they perceive the world 24/7. this obviously doesn't apply to just girls, I truly believe pretension is the lack of true dedication towards something that you love on a deep level, such as whatever artistic pursuit you're after... the process of becoming skilled at something is humbling. but the art hoes that blue hair op pic reminds me of, and why I wrote that post, usually are into making some really terrible art that they disguise as being experimental or shocking, when in reality its a bastardization of abstraction, guised with a true understanding of artistic principles for expression. this is where the typical pretentious abstract / experimental artist trope comes from; it really is those type of people who recognize that they can become like their favorite beatnik fuckwads by making sculptures of cum filled socks. when you're surrounded by this for four years, and date a few of them, you realize how much of a chore it is to play make-believe in their saccharine world. also their pussies tend to stink
