admittedly the only Dostoyevsky I've read is Notes from Underground, which is interesting but not ground-breaking. that having been said, all my friends who have read his other stuff say it's incredible, even life-changing literature. i'd go with that. then i'd read brave new world, because the dystopian classics are always worth a read. then blood meridian because i've heard good things. catch-22 i read and didn't think much of it, which is contrary to pretty much every other person's opinion on it that i've met. i get it's satirical and absurdist, but i just couldn't get into it. you may find otherwise.
