philosophy has circumscribed the boundaries of knowledge within which the sciences operate. had it not been for philosophy, you'd lack the narrative of "progress" you use to declare the supremacy of science, or a concrete definition of science. philosophy is the mother discourse, she gives birth to other discourses and raises them in their early years. that they strike out on their own isn't a mark of her failure, but a testament to her success.

Fishy could not make up her mind. This was, of course, her usual state, but applied particularly well in this moment. It was night, the pier was damp and deserted, there was a hachet on the inside of her coat… But it all felt false, played. She did not feel like a criminal. No matter how much she called herself Fishy, and how much she tried to think in slang, as rough men of the seas do, it all felt artificial. It was, of course, artificial, but it could at least have had the decency of appearing to her as genuine. Pisces was a sensitive person, after all. The axe, the coat… She did not feel as Raskoljnikov at all. Or, in another sense, she felt precisely as Raskoljnikov did. Will she really do it? It was like this ever since Scorpio was killed. She could not get out of bed for a month, lost her job, lost her friends… Is that really the reason? From one cliche to the other - from the overtense intellectual villain, to the villain out of need. Can't she finally pick a role and play it? Be satisfied with it? But, sadly, she was a sensitive person.
At least the atmosphere was correct. Dark pier. Positioned in a side passage, unseen from the main pass. All it would take is a victim to pass. Like a spider. Spider? Perhaps this is the proper role. She liked it. Spider - spider - six legs and a spot for a body, home of strings and venomous fangs. Six eyes, all the better to see you with. Fly - fly - where are you?
This line of thinking was silly, but, she was, as was stated, a sensitive person, and could not help herself. She was at least, for the time, satisfied with being a spider, instead of being Fishy.
There was a sequence of sounds. Footsteps, closing at moderate pace. Single person - single fly - single prey. unseen and unsuspecting, coming from the main pass. Then stopping. There was a hideous sound, and Spider could not prevent herself from shrugging in horror. The atmosphere was dead. Nothing could be done now - the noise had shattered it. And it was such a nice illusion. From the direction of the footsteps (which now resumed). came terrible sounds of punk-rock. How unbearable. To be shaken so cruelly from this position of quiet triumph. She had hoped to kill a young, strong sailor, and run away with the gold he pulled from the barren sea. This was undoubtedly some teenager. But still - beauty in ugliness. A teenager, then.
The footsteps resumed, followed by the hideous music and female singing, if sounds produced to this music can at all be graced by being called music. Fishy - Spider - Pisces - she could not decide how to approach this target. If she were Spider, or an U-boat commander, she would say: "target, female, West at ten meters, closing at moderate pace". It did not come naturally, but she would have to bear with it. There was no time to think now. She opened her coat and took her axe out.

I figure I would end it here, not much more to write; all my ideas were about the thoughts of Pisces.

No. This is just disorganised destruction. There is no coordinating body aimed toward an explicit goal. And, even if there were, the goal would not be the liberation of humanity through the liberation of the proletariat, which takes itself as the representative of all classes (and, this time, rightfully - the revolution of the proletariat is not considered to be a half-revolution). Much of this is mere looting.
That being said, Americans really do have to do something about their police. This sort of thing happens all the time.

>I am sick of the position I hold, so I will change it.
If you ascribe any truth-value to positions (that is, if you are anything other than a nihilist), you are committing sin. Know, or you will forever flip between positions you are unable to hold in good faith.

It is not meaningless at all, it is a reminder to avoid reductivism. Social organization is far more conplex than can be fit into a naïve appeal to masses.

A balance between growth of a population and the means to support that growth is the foundation for a stable society. Uncontrolled growth leads to unfettered decay. Just as organic life relies on stasis of a complex system of molecules, a society relies on stasis of a complex system of environmental factors and constituent populations. Ontological calculus is a wide umbrella of study, and it intersects cleanly with the crux of this discussion, insofar as we are talking about the capacity for some thing to perpetuate its existence. An often ignored factor in this case is that of stress-tolerance, or the capacity for a given thing to mitigate environmental changes. A large population without the internal means to adapt to change exists in a very delicate stasis. Uncontrollable environmental factors can quickly snowball into population decimating events, and entire swaths of bloodlines go extinct. Compare this to a society that instead focuses on sophisticated logistics, networks of supply that are multifaceted and are easily adapted to change in the environment, allowing for extremely high stress tolerance for that society.

So why is balance important? To borrow an old metaphor, it is like the fox and the hedgehog. The fox understands many things, and is highly adaptable to changing circumstance which grants it success. The hedgehog understands one thing, and it understands that one thing very well. True success is metered by a capacity to be both the fox and the hedgehog. In this case, the fox is the society with an advanced economy. It knows many things, and it uses its wits to organize supplies to its own success. The hedgehog is the society focused on birthrates, and relies on doing that very well to try and survive. A society that has a respectable birthrate, and ensures that its supply lines are extremely stable through advanced techniques and clever design, is a society that outlasts both.
