I haven't written in a while, any recommendations for improvements?

He seeks to taste the divine through flesh,
Life as wheat and chaff ready to thresh.
The God in man finds victory clear
In his own beliefs, as a Saint sincere.
The sublimity of Divinity
- the modesty of Mortality.

Loeb's Greek Epic Fragments is a good resource for getting into earlier, non-Homeric Greek epic. Don't forget Callimachus and the Alexandrians as well (Loeb is a great resource for this as well)

No, Alexandrine meter was first used in the Middle Ages, originating in France. By Alexandrians I mean the poets of the Alexandria during the reign of the Ptolemies, poets such as Euphorion, Philitas of Cos, and especially Callimachus whose work is either entirely lost or only scant fragments are availible
