Whether you like it or not, it is impossible to defeat capitalism and then go straight to communism. Marxism-Leninism is the closest we have ever got and it worked relatively well for decades despite pro-market right-wingers like Khrushchev taking it off course. It still took decades until Gorbachev finally rekt it.

Obviously it fell short and wasn't perfect, but the fact that the USSR stayed around for decades and had a high standard of living, while fighting imperialism and forcing capitalist countries to treat it's workers better shows that it is what we need to build off of.
