Best information resource in bookform on birds?

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but hear me out.
I'm taking some mythology class because an upper level humanity is a grad requirement at my college and my final paper involves studying a mythic adaptation, comparing it to the mythic archetype and analyzing the contex and what the author was trying to get across or whatever.
The problem here is that I don't consume media outside of porn. I just do my fucking work then go to sleep. Can anyone recommend me a simple mythic adaptation that a literary-midwit of an engineering major can right about, based on a simple archetype too (ie hero's monomyth).

what does this tell us about the human condition? any books that can tie all this together? all I have read just forwards racist hypotheses about the lack of sexual dimorphism in certain parts of the world (which doesn't account for the appearances of this stuff everywhere)

This book makes me ponder of some of things that make no sense to me. Like why do I care about people being racist on 4chan? Is it my own arrogance of existence that cares about it? Why do I care that I don't talk to my father? There is no way what I'm doing is significant at all, even If I was a celebrity. Even adding that qualifier is a cope, I wish I was somewhat important to people but even when I had friends I was still alone. I never felt connected. I wish I wasn't fucked up all the time but I've tried being silent and having no identity but it doesn't work. Is existence just claiming that our opinion matters?
