Went right over your head. It woudn't have been the same if she had joined some right wing outfit. Do you know why? For someone who sees left wingers where they aren't, I'd expect you to 'get' the purpose of commie nonsense and see how the backbone of the book fits around it. You remember the rather vivid ending? It runs all the way to the start of the fiasco that the novel runs on. The fiasco wasn't the bombing, by the way. And it causes all the horror that unfolds.

Sorry you're unhappy that I'm pointing out that the book sucks.

You failed to mention one of the major themes. It involves where leather comes from. I expect that went over your head. It sure bothered Merry though. Just like something else. Hm.

What do you think of Shakespeare's father being a glover?

Hello, I've actually now read this mess. It's a diary with commentary and it is shockingly shockingly bad.

If it's a parody, the beginning isn't very funny or bizarre, but oh boy does it pick up as it goes on.

There are some strange moments such as:

>>One moment, everyone might trust a company, and the next moment, the company could be seen as leprous simply because of some regulatory violation that no one knew of. Volkswagen, for example, went from being admired for making great cars to being crooks who lied to every government in order to make their diesel engines look better performing than they really were.

...where the author really shines in his ignorance. "In my 20s, I had a career in economics"—but doesn't know what happened with Volkswagen?

From biographical details, the author is about 32 years old. And this is what his mind has to offer us:

>>The emotions were real, and in the professional competitive scene
the money was real too; many pros made a living out of playing the game.

>>I had quit the game by 2016 because I had gotten quite good at it. And more than playing the game, what I had always wanted out of it was some type of intellectual, or mental, growth. I had learned much about the psychology of the warrior while playing it, and I had also understood a key part of the masculine thinker, which was that the masculine thinker had to simplify his thoughts. This game "League of Legends" was perhaps the most useful game I had ever played because it was more than entertainment...

Hey /lit/, I keep seeing this "prose stylist" thing thrown around, and I'm not sure what it really means. Could someone explain?

For didactic purposes, maybe you could frame your explanation around some two acclaimed authors: one who is a "prose stylist" and one who isn't.

The camera is to get footage of Katje to show to Grigory and condition him to attack her at Casino Hermann Goering. Osbie is cooking up psychadelic mushrooms for the dopers. They are in Pirate's flat, where Katje has been returned to after escaping Blicero's Holland (Hansel and Gretel) Rocket Battery where she was picked up by British forces and put into the White Visitation until Pirate's air-mail message (which Slothrop took as a V2) gave him word under Kryptosam (invented by one Laslo Jamf of IG Farben) - which Pirate then needed to ejaculate onto to decode (to a picture of Scorpia Mossmoon) - to remove Katje from the White Visitation and take her to his flat, where she now is while he's out with a secret camera inside and Osbie cooking up some psychedelic mushrooms for what appears to be (but probably isn't) no reason.

The following passage dips from Pirate's flat in London to Katje's memory of the battery to Blicero (Weissman)'s memory of Südwest back to the battery and briefly through Gottfried then back through Katje who returns us to London only for one more excursion into the past on the remote island mauritius focalized through one of Katje's ancestors which then pulls back into London through Pirate's flat before melding gracefully into the white visitation
