good heavens this thread is filled with replies that could be right at home on your beer-swilling conspiracy nut father’s Facebook feed.

here’s what’s actually going to happen in the immediate future (asking for a prediction hundreds of years in advance is foolish), because you can see it happening in this thread. people are gleefully allowing their fear to control them, and under the tyranny of their fear, will act out theoretically (developing extremist, misanthropic ideology) or physically (guerrilla violence) until they have succeeded in isolating all possible threats (read: merely isolating themselves). Once sufficiently derelict, the fearful will emerge, starved by their fear, and rediscover truly the oldest and most enduring human instinct: our unconditional love and dependence on one another for survival, and the urgent necessity of collective sacrifice. There is no need to worry that those who already acknowledge the aforementioned enduring human instinct might not exist after some hypothetical point in the future, for the compassionate have survived for over a hundred thousand years (indeed if it were the fearful who were exclusively selected for reproduction, we would have all died starved infants squirming in fresh amniotic fluid), and it is the compassionate who are stubbornly dragging humankind through unthinkable suffering of its own design with the hope that we one day all care for one another as if we are newborn, for we plainly are from birth to death.
