I hadnt heard about his political donations but even then i think hes generally not commited to any movement and seems to float somewhere inbetween. He's friends with Le Guin so clearly cant be as right wing as some people here like to believe he is, and professes to hold a sort of ecclectic mixture of 'far left and far right' views, whatever that means.
