The Church has universal jurisdiction. Our goal is to baptize all the Earth, because we want to give everyone the Gospel, to give everyone the gift of eternal life in Christ's name. What makes China any different than Gaul, or the land of the Goths, or the British Isles? They, too, were once foreign, and far from Rome and Jerusalem. But they were all converted. What makes China any different from the Americas, from Mexico and Guatemala and Brazil? They were far from Rome, but they were converted.

Why should China be any different? What makes China any different than Vietnam or South Korea, both of which have growing Catholic populations?
