Besides visualizing, are you able to imagine/recall other senses? I can play out conversations or songs in my head just fine, but I have a bit of trouble conjuring smells and digital sensations. It's the same in my dreams. Barely any smells or feeling of pain/temperature.
I do get heavy nostalgia daily when I come across some smells, for example the smell of the discarded ice in fish markets remind me of some cold mornings of my childhood.

What are your favorite misanthropic books and writers? Mine are Pascal and his Pensees.

Has any book ever managed to dampen your anger, especially anger guided at other people? I don't know where to ask about this - /adv/ is crowded with self-anointed self-help dullards, so I don't go there - but I am such an angry person, I need to do something about this. Not angry in a Hulk-like destroying-everything-in-my-way way, but deep inside, I am boiling with frustration. I am frustrated with myself and people whom I've met in my life. The mere realization of sharing this planet with some of these ignorant, self-important cretins makes me want to kill myself.
