The idea of a great books education has really started to interest me, and so I’ve been browsing various lists posted.

Mortimer Adler’s list seems to be the most popular, and that great books project I think uses his list

But I know other people have written lists. Harold Blooms “Western Canon” might be considered a list but I know he disavowed that later.

This list here notes that many great books list skip much of the Middle Ages due to a rationalistic bias. This does seem to have more works from the Middle Ages represented

What are your thoughts on the great books lit? What’s your favorite list? Do you have any thoughts on a great books education?
