Doesn't this quote basically also apply to Guénon himself and his own life?
He converts to Islam but instead of "raising himself to the truth" (that is, for a Muslim, the revelations of the prophet Mohammed) he continues to hold completely incompatible believes like in the Kali Yuga and other Hindu stuff - which basically means he committed Shirk and would probably have been put to death in an actually traditionalist Islamic society

If you reject the existence of the transcendental the price you pay is forever having a fundamentally irrational worldview.

Empiricism and other forms of beliefs that are solely rooted in materialism are degenerate forms of knowledge. Our forebears knew this. We live in the kali yuga, age of the spirit has died and we now worship fallible men in their pursuit of "truth"
