Ok, so /lit/ hates Houellebecq, but how can you deny many of his conclusions? Especially in Platform.

It's a shitty book by a vulgar man that thought he just wanted to write the most outrageously demented book ever. It doesn't mean anything; it has no purpose behind it , and it has no purpose other than displaying the criminal insanity of its writer (who was literally arrested for rape and other crimes). It's literally meaningless. It doesn't mean anything. Stop talking about it.

So I've been on a Houellebecq kick lately. I like how the prose (as it's translated into English) is very readable but that its readability doesn't come at the cost of a dumbed down perspective/message/analysis.

Are there any authors similar to him?

Underrated as a poet. Has anyone read his poetry? He's no Dante, of course, but his poetry is seldom discussed. And sadly some the rhymes are lost in translation. Best post 1990 poet. Best contemporary poet righ here, I'm not kidding.
