The way I see it, a person should see nihilism as encouragement to give life fabricated meaning, developing an "I have nothing to lose anyways" mindset. It should allow you stop taking things so seriously, rather than contemplating serious thoughts of suicide and depression. And the best way to "conquer" or at least subdue nihilistic thoughts is to make yourself feel important, which is why people want money, authority, popularity, etc. It's a biological need to feel valuable, which is just another form of pleasure. Even though an intelligent person realizes that life has no meaning, he still needs enjoyment to develop a will-to-life. It seems like you need pleasure to go against nihilism. So they are related, but not the same thing, or at least that's how I interpret it. Distinct but not disjointed

Does anyone else find it disturbing how there are many threads about Catholicism or celebrating pederasty?

Why do these two particular subjects keep cropping up?

Where are the discussions about books?
