>I just don't think the cultivation stuff carries it enough to call it as good as Cradle.
I judge it as Cultivation+Power Progression. If it way solely by Cultivation then...Well, I honestly think it has better Cultivation system than Cradle, which Cultivation progression seems rather shallow and straighforward compared to DotF's. Honestly, it might be just due to the fact DotF is a webnovel, so obviously it has more time and effort spent on enriching the setting and the story, compared to Cradle being a published series with tight storyline. Still, if I was to judge both series as how good they do in their categories, I'd say Defiance of the Fall is just better at being a Power Progression Cultivation webnovel than Cradle being a self-published Power Progression Cultivation story.

>How's it compare to Cradle?
Difficult to compare, as while both as progression fatansy cultivation stories, they have different focus. Main difference is that Cradle is a book series, while DoTF is a webnovel. DoTF target is steady schedule, five times a week at the same time, so that you have something to look up to every day. Cradle obviously will be a more polished and tight story, but not necessarily better if we consider how good are both stories performing relatively to their goals.
Cradle is defnitely more focused on characters and relationship between them, and the story is good most of the time, progression is more of a framework there. In DoTF the progression is the focus, and the story isn't bad, compared to other often recommended cultivation stories it is very good. But it isn't as focused on characters, even though the few that are developed are interesting, especially the MC's companion Ogras, who's absolutely hilarious to me. If there's one aspect in which DoTF absolutely outshines Cradle, it's world building. The world is massive beyond belief and I found it much more interesting to Cradle's, countless different races and places. Dao visions the MC undergoes often have stories within them, i.e. Dao of Heaviness(?) have a vision of a man protecting his planet from destruction at the end of time. The story being LitRPG might be weird at first, but there are serious plot reason why System (also known as Ruthless Heavens) exists, and to me it makes DoTF one of the more interesting settings, leaning heavily into System's existence and how it came to be. It also isn't just a framework for the story to work, but at times could be even considered a character on its own.

Now, if I had to choose only one of those to exist...I wouldn't be sure which I would choose. Cradle is good, one of the best Progression Fantasies, but it lacks the scope and deepness that DoTF posseses, especially the length. Honestly, I think I'd be leaning more towards DoTF than Cradle.
