In the far, but not too far future, A group of human scientists accidentally end up abducting a small alien child during a botched research mission of a planet they were studying. The alien child comes from a Paleolithic civilization of Bird people, and cannot communicate properly with humans without text to speech (And is very immuno-sensitive, due to living most of his life in a sterilized human environment). When a bizarre accident causes the research station to fall from the sky, the Alien (now an adult) is exposed to his species' primitive culture and way of life, and he must come to terms with his identity as a member of his own species, and as a member of human society, all whilst he and his fellow human survivors deal with the ramifications of their station crashing on the alien world, and try to call for help.
