I doubt that your classical /pol/ "alt-right" anons spend much time on /lit/.

People are on 4chan because they can say what they want, with out account or name. "Normal people" (twitter users, grandmas, snapchat users, etc.) don't actually conceptualize what that means. Their only experience with freely using, just for example, swear words, is when they see all words being used on equal footing is with mentally ill people who might scream random insults on the street. If you're at work, or on reddit, or twitter, you have your identity attached to your utterances and so you aren't free. On 4chan you can larp as a female super market clerk in one moment, test what the experience and reactions to "you" are like and drop it the next second. That's why people are on 4chan. Quite frankly, it's stupid not to be on 4chan, you're missing part of the human experience - fore example because you're stuck to being some writer on the internet, and not some STEM student as well as some STEM Prof who has both far left and far right opinions and occasionally drops by at the cooking chan to get another salad recipe. In between you can test the waters of what you actually think. No, the notes from the underground anons on /lit/ aren't tied to the alt-right, which either means nothing or means crypto-supremecists alla Spencer. Anons are interested in Land because they are normal guys who had a lefty upbringing as everybody not born in central America, but the left is hatful and Land is an edgy way to engage with reactionary ideas without actually taking a political stance. Everybody things Lands twitter persona is an autistic joke - what people are interested in is that faux-Kantian mysticism that makes points about the left being degenerated. Also for the memes and porn. And whenever I write left, obviously I neither mean anti-autoritarian, nor Lenninist. Those which have the label "left" are students who demand woke actions, it's the progressives. They neither want to get rid of totalitarianism nor put aside the capitalist mode.

Tell Reza that.

It's easy, we all want to stay left but the contemporary left makes it impossible (say e.g. by demanding to also denying statistical facts and makes it a career thread to talk about them.) The consequence is the Hegelian bargaining you see and the result is fringe associations with left-right edge riders like Nick Land's accelerationism.

Gradually gets worse. Contrapoints production value is good but the transition anxiety that makes 100% of the videos about word redefinitions just has other trans folks as genuine audience.
>No, Ben Sharpiro, you are. In fact. WRONG! (Because I redefine "worman" to allow for men transitioning to be a woman all along) Instead of just taking on new terms, Constra and this gang have to demand redefinitions - otherwise they couldn't cope with their feelings.

I like Cuck Philosophies cinematography even more than that of Contrapoints - and I'm jelly that his smirking act probably gives him tons of pussy.

I love playing with those French ideas and muh post-structuralism and muh mirror and other event and making Freuds ideas even more illusory and warping them over ever more concept. I love engaging with these things in my free time, but I also know that it's very most likely baseless brainfuckers which was cooked up by 40yo French profs to keep fucking 18yo freshmen girls. It's a valid way of life, imho, but shouldn't be even tried to be attacked even if you base your ideology in Jung yourself, which is also quite a bit fuzzy. But the frenchies is just to entertain, not make life decissions based on it. Someone like Peterdoesn doesn't and shouldn't try to engage with their "ideas". You can engage with ideas of someone like Harris, where whether you love or hate them, they are at least articulated to be understood. Postmodern ideas are cooked up by people to get their ego stroked and by getting their dicks stroked. You know it - we engage with such books for our entertainment and mind masturbation.

What's good about that article? It's just someone who doesn't like Peterson, for some reason.
Wow, saying that statements in a self-help book are truisms or trivial... that's no argument. Of course, a motivational text will be some straight forward statements that you mostly know already - nothing wrong with composing such a text like that. Peterson is also pop-science to some extent, as in he goes on tangents discussing biological research findings and such. And then he goes to quote the bible and makes conclusions and guidelines like any preacher. Nothing wrong with that.

Why is it even so mysterious that Peteron is likes? To me it just seems that right-winged ideology has its perks and Peterson is somebody you can accept even when having gone through left-winged brainwashing all you live. It's literally right-light. The conservative parts. Father figure meme.

Here's an actual takedown that pins down his hypocrisy/weakness to a point:

I took this post seriously until you dropped the line that you're 23.

I was a virgin till 29 and now at 33 bang new new girl off tinder every month. You can learn to program Python or Javascript in 4 months and do well paying remote jobs.
Those are all not excuses.

I don't know about the clean your room thing. Maybe, if your literal room is clearn enough, read it more allegorically. I, for one, always have a messy room and I know it'd be a good place to start and I find Petersons encouragement helpful, no matter if it's profound or not.

Do you know anybody with a /lit/ ambition who has read the word "store front" as often as you do?
I'm pondering how to take advantage of this unique perspective on life.

Young adult fiction is literally the worst genre. Even worse than books written for toddlers and children. The worst Dr. Seuss book has more artistic value than the best John Green novel.

What's the position the book takes?

I feel the only reason why I'd want to become a father is to please my mother, who wants grandchildren. I don't desire kids myself - I see no point, only it eating time and money - and, again, I feel no craving for it.
Anyone else in this position.

My understanding of it for the day to day interaction with the world:

According to the proponents, (postmodern?) irony as reaction is poisonous.
A usage of expressing yourself ironically, and thereby distancing yourself form the content,
is that you protect yourself from being attacked.
But it also takes away meaning.
The idea is that narratives dressed in an ironic fashion have become the standard mindset (at least from the 80's onward).
People tell stories and distance themselves from the content at the same time.
E.g. write a sitcom about people where you don't want to be or represent any of the characters.
But it already starts with groups of friends that only allow for ironic use of emoji,
as opposed to other people, maybe your parents, who use them genuinely.)
In fact, even being vague about it makes dishonesty too easy.
Because in that case,
if I seriously like something and realize everyone else is being ironic,
I may just and pretend I'm being ironic too.
On the other hand, if I ironically like something and realize other people are serious about it,
I may pretend I'm serious as well.

Q: Why is it really so bad?
Q: Is the sitcom thing really a good example? Or have I maybe explained it badly?

What does sincere really mean? I think:
- Avoid cynic thinking/talking and don't even let ironic thinking/talking water down your purpose.
Remark: It doesn't mean you can't enjoy any ironic works or be ironic sometimes.
- Being open about your vulnerabilities.
Caution: You must be capable of owning them, otherwise you just hurt yourself this way.
Remark: In the act of displaying vulnerability without fear,
the negative aspect of you exhibiting the vulnerability is actually reduced.
- Being truthful to other about a) your purpose and b) what you think is the case.
Caution:
Don't make them feel threatened and that you're against them!
Being honest shall not come at the expense of splitting with people.
It's a balance to work on.*
- Jesus is extremely sincere and wouldn't make ironic comments,
but being like Jesus isn't a condition for being sincere.
Being sincere and not unnecessarily rude doesn't at all mean being ``nice''
or having to express your feeling for people all the time.
For example, friendly banter under men is making fun of guys to bond with them
without having to explicitly analyze ones friendship with them.

>I say sex is godly
Normies and everyday couples have sex regularly. If it was "godly", then surely you wouldn't find most people being very far remove from happiness.
The desire to get off drives humans, and so it's a stead theme and part of everything. Doesn't make it any less of a burden.
It's a kick and a bonding experience + orgasm. Better than fapping, but 10 times as messy (sweaty bodies in large area contact, womanly fluids on the bed almost unavoidable and sperm gets in the mix too).
Everybody needs it and it's good to get it, especially if you didn't have it, because it releases the stress of being loaded. "Can be awesome" is the only way to describe it in 3 words, and the extend to which it's great depends on the partner, his/her skills as well, and the scarcity of it.

Why do people act like not experiencing hedonistic pleasures (think /r9k/ or regretting not having partied/traveled) is such a bad thing?

Like eating, fun while you do it, but meaningless as soon as it's done. You don't think back of all the 1000 good chocolate cakes you had and the time you ate them. At best, you think of the platonic ideal of eating chocolate cake and how nice that is, but the past events, after having eaten chocolate cake 3 times say, don't contribute to the feel of thinking back how great chocolate cake is.

If you spent your time nicely, almost everything is better than having repeatedly and repeatedly having had chocolate cake or sex. Yes, great while you do it, but over as soon it's over.

Why would all of this have shaped you for the better - is there any reason to believe that?

Why go to therapy? And why "sell", I just watched videos on youtube. I got some ideas, did things differently, got laid, got interested in meditation. It's not more or less. I'm not 100% clear where this anger toward it comes from.
I'm not denying that /r9k/ and the redpill reddit is full of angry kids and the fact that the communities overlap, but that should invalidate this "psychology book" stuff. Yes, probably I learned nothing that isn't part of some psychology book, but here it's packaged for a purpose.
