I want to read Hindu scriptures, but in the preface it says something about the sattvic quality expected of the reader, and I'm constantly stressed and horny and so I don't qualify

When I signed up for Latin class, I thought we would learn to read and write Latin, not learn an algorithm for painstakingly translating Latin sentences into a familiar language.
With some practice I have gotten to a point where I can read the gospels fluently, but I am still very far from being able to enjoy Cicero in the original.
Will I ever make it?

I need an answer bros. I have to read more Victorian novels before term begins, one of them will be a Dickens, and it's got to be either this or Dombey and Son. I actually have a copy of this one, but I have zero motivation to read it. I saw an anon on here who claimed that this was his favourite Dickens, and I know that Bloom is particularly fond of it, but is there anything else that can be said in favour of it that will motivate me?

I've spent the last 3 years studying greek and roman literature and philosophy for over 5 hours a day

Please PLEASE do not start with the greeks, they were wrong about pretty much everything

The last book I read was the last percy jackson book in 8th grade. I have really bad ADHD that I'm getting treated for. Which books will ease me into and make me love reading again?

Yes but there is a danger of even your inner life being superficial. Think of how many there are who substitute a superficial extroversion with chronic inner hubris. Think of how many /lit/ browsers who's "inner life" is just a steady stream of imagined dialogue between persons they rarely interact with, and this could be just as superficial, in fact it is probably moreso because it is detached from reality. Think of the /litizen/ who meanders around lusting after "stacies"; in fact I would wager that these types are even more superficial because their inner dialogue is never exposed to the light of the day, which would fill one with such shame when one is suddenly cognizant of how despicably pretentious one actually is. Except we're all aware of this, and this just causes us to sink deeper into our shell, a vicious, non-linear effect. Possibly even at the moment of our death when the humiliation of it all threatens to surge to unforeseen levels, we will commit the rationalization of all rationalizations as we desperately try to convince ourselves that everyone else is to blame.

Introversion is too dangerous. Even though interacting with the multitudes is to be avoided at all costs, one should at least try to make sporadic contact in order to refine one's contempt.
