nick land stuff is going to be meaningless anyway so may as well jump right in. you're not going to get anymore out of it even if you spend 20 years reading all the works leading up to it. the "you have to have read all the important historical works of philosophy up to the present starting with plato" is just a defense mechanism. that way you can ALWAYS claim someone just hasn't read enough when challenged.

What reason is there to publish this that isn't just trying to build up the perception of "whoa this guy is crazy!". I'm not even upset about it being done, I respect the art of it and I think it's effective, I just don't like trying to pass it off as something with intellectual merit when it's just for aesthetic value
