The best place to get started in philosophy is whatever actually sparks your interest. If you start reading and you're being bored to tears, you will get nothing from it, no matter how profound and important the thinker is, and you'll drop the whole thing. If, instead, you follow what really holds your attention, you'll eventually become interested in works that were previously unreadable. For me, it was Aurelius, Plato, Nietzsche, Marx, and Foucault that really made things "click" and got me interested in branching out to other parts of philosophy I never would have cared about.

this. leftists can be ignored in the field of economics since they have never once been able to create a successful economy (don't say China because chinks were starving to death by the millions until the CPC introduced free markets). also Marxism as a method of analysis is complete bullshit that presupposes an inordinate amount of things that are not true and cannot be proved.

Is there such thing as a (good) book that explains the main ideas of every single important philosopher and philosophical school, their responses/interpretations of the previous one. I want to be able to pick any philosophy work from any period or movement according to me interested and already understand how and where they "fit" in the cannon, without needing to read everything that came before.
Maybe there is a consistent series on that you could recommend me.

Btw I'm not a pseud who wants to pretend to know philosophy in-depth, I just happen to have a stark interest in some contemporary philosophers and sociologists, but want to "get" the bigger picture so I can understand them clearly.

At the beginning of a chapter, your main character is browsing /lit/. This has no weight on the story besides highlighting some important traits of him. Describe the scene in your best prose.

How do i read more?

Does vydia and social media kill your will to read?
Does keeping a rigid exercise routine makes a more avid reader and learner?
Are there meds that can help?

Hold up. This doesn't make any sense. If you truly believed what you said to the point you were willing to end your own life, then why didn't you just simply kill the park janny? You are refusing to address the elephant in the room. That is, life life does have value and is worth living, which is why you ultimately refused to kill him and yourself. Otherwise, you would have bludgeoned him with your latter and carried on with your pathetic plan to hang yourself.

I'm considering buying a $150k big rig outright and quitting my 80k/year office job. From my research, long haul owner operators can make $300k /year. I could work at FAANG companies and make 200k in a few more years but it doesn't seem worth it. I'd be able to listen to audiobooks and wouldn't need to deal with people in this scenario.
