If you are trying to transform yourself into a decent human being you shouldn't be trying to go through any "lefty gateway," unless by decent human being you mean the same idiot, just on the other (and more socially acceptable) side of the spectrum.

You should first come to terms with the idea that both sides overwhelmingly have only the best intentions of everyone at heart. Unfortunately, especially among the most extreme people on either side, their best intentions have given way to hate, and among the small amount of truth either side speaks on is a mountain of hate and unexamined untruth.

Books that helped me de-radicalize myself were Mill's On Liberty, Marcus Aurelius' Meditations, and Haidt/Lukianoff's The Coddling of the American Mind. On Liberty in particular encouraged me to expose myself to other viewpoints, and I read The Bell Curve and White Fragility. Open yourself to opposing viewpoints, even knowing you won't agree with them. Remove malice and ill-will from your mind. Have conversations with people.

I personally find the hate against women authors foolish. Most women readers reads more of women than men, so a general assertion can be made that women relates to what women writes and men relates to what men writes. This eliminates any possibility of a gender-based objective claim to be valid.

When you realised that you had no chance of ever getting girls like this, how did your philosophical beliefs change?

What will the next great American novel cover?

I find it amusing how the novel idea thread's posts either have seemingly archaic plots/tones, needlessly intricate, or are future/tech oriented. The next great novel WILL necessarily be about internet culture: pop #trends, memes, video browsing, social media scrolling and whoring, online dating, more memes and various internet movements, shitposting, lurking on boards, internet isolation and addiction etc. etc.

Go read sci-fi and pop fantasy then, pleb.

Beautiful prose is primary, it is often what makes the plot stick, and have impact. Great prose can bring the shittiest plot to life
