I'm not really convinced. At best, you might find a few who think of it as a necessary evil; to be tolerated until such times as it can be cast off completely.

I just finished reading The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With the Sea. Obviously I read it in English, but the translation seemed excellent.
His prose was uniquely beautiful and maybe I'm just fucked up, but Noburu was a view into an aspect of childhood thought that I've never before seen with such accuracy.
However, I feel like Mishima is a writer that, try as I might, I will never truly understand. I'll never live in the world that he defined himself by.

I really want to look at some of his other works, what do you recommend I read next?

The other day I was watching the movie Paul Schrader made about his life, so a friend is going to lent me The Sailor Who Fell from Grace with the Sea.
