Where is the metric for dissapearing jobs coming from? We have record unemployment currently.
Honestly someone give me an answer that isnt some case study of a particular profession. I work in robotics in an office of several thousand people designing robots that "take the jobs" away from chinks in their mega factories. Nobody Im involved with is worried about unemployment, we're more worried about how hard its gunna be to train niggers to maintain the machinery properly.

[Protag] allowed himself to relax and slip into the news stream. Of interest this morning was the topic of the front desk AI of a Japanese owned hotel chain. The AI had been introduced several months ago; styled after popular anime culture of the late 1990s, the AI was docile, feminine, and polite. An interesting note was its algorithim allowed for small mistakes in discussion. This gave opportunities for the AI to become flustered and apologize profusely, often much to the delight of the guests. This was both a boon and a curse to the hotel chain. While it greatly increased popularity and revenue for the chain, some guests had become infatuated with the receptionist, and it was leading to some incidents of harrasment. Guests would often linger too long making small talk, causing cues. Others would ask inappropriate questions in attempt to generate cute reactions. What flaired the news stream today was video of a crazed man who had smashed one of its projection screens, he had confessed his love to the digital projection. When the AI responded in coy professionalism, he became emotional. crying first, then shouting, he had tossed a lounge chair into the screen before he was restrained.
[Protag] allowed his mind to wander on the subject. There already were a plethora of companionship AI available. Was it the unavailabilty of this intellectual property that made it so beloved? The hotel chain had mentioned it was working on a companionship version of its AI, much to the collective angst of if it would solve these problems or fuel them. Perhaps it was the small mistakes that made it seem more human? [Protag] felt a slight lag. Overwatch was now listening. He didnt worry, surely he thought, these ideas were benign. Neither original nor provocative. There must be tens of thousands thinking these same things. Probably a random search. He allowed himself to continue…

Please excuse spelling mistakes, I wrote it on my phone during my train commute.
