In all fairness, most philosophies could be summarized quite succinctly. The major bulk of most philosophy that I have read is not the theses themselves but the defenses of the theses. The great rub is that without the accompanying defenses, the various philosophies look vague and weak with permutations.

You likely just know that whatever summary you made would be easily deconstructed without the bulk of the defense that is associated with it.
