how do you cope with the fact of knowing so much you don't know?

How good are you at actually remembering quotes? I understand remembering the events of a story via imagery, but how can this method possibly apply to non-fiction texts, such as abstract concepts? Can you associate images even with mere "ideas"?

Do you ever fear for the integrity of your language?
Between all the anglicisms that keep on infiltrating mine, as well as the over simplification of the spoken and worst of all, spoken tongue, I'm afraid that a century from now people won't be able to understand much of what was written a few hundred years.
Each time I see a word I have never heard before in a book I cannot help but feel sadness at the fact that such vocable is a fossil only preserved in texts that most people won't ever see.
