i want to submit the sci-fi short-story i just finished to a consolidated sci-fi magazine, but I don't think it's good enough, I'm afraid of being rejected, so embarrassing... what if they (wrongfully) accuse me of plagiarism and tell everybody in the magazine industry and I can't sell one of my short stories, let alone a book, ever. I've wanted to be a famous writer ever since I learnt how to read and if I was banned from the publishing world I'd probably kms waaaaah...

I'm about to finish Heart of Darkness and I don't know if I should rea with To the Lighthouse, Dubliners or Jane Eyre desu.
I'm enjoying reading again after a long time but now I feel I don't have enough time to read everything I want.

I have extreme difficulties talking to girls, I talk to them like I would to anyone but that clearly doesn't lead to getting my weewee touched.

This article really bothered me but it seems I have to start talking to them like I would to a child or a mentally handicapped person.

David Foster Wallace should have still been alive. When I read or listen to anything of his, I get this incredible sense of regret that if he had just lived a little longer, he would feel more at home in this decade than in the previous one. His "This is water" speech is especially painful to watch.

This being over a span of 6 years. I've been a quotidian /lit/ poster for a couple years now and don't really see myself moving anywhere else on this site. I only occasionally visit other boards. It's really interesting to see you guys' online odysseys and to think about how these different board cultures might have molded your personalities. Not many other /k/ommandos I see? Oh well. The idea that this (or any other) is an "exit board" is one I've never thought of. Wonder if my time is coming? Will we finally learn to socialize in "real life" and no longer need this place? Was 4chan a necessary cocoon to incubate a certain type of character that couldn't grow otherwise? It's a bittersweet thought, just want to say I appreciate you guys.

Why do you even read /lit/?

There's one girl who I had in a first-year university class. We added each other on Facebook and then never talked after that but I still see updates from her on my news feed. I'm in my fifth year of university with average grades after a major change. She graduated last year with like a 3.9 GPA. And we're at a T20 in the world university. She also did a shit ton of extracurricular including being the leader or something of the school's Model UN. And she has more friends to her name than people I've met at school. Now she's in law school. I don't know how she does it. She's living the dream I always wanted but never had the energy or discipline or work ethic or perseverance to achieve. I'm scared shitless of whether or not I'll get into a decent law school at all with my 2.8 GPA, though I have medical documentation to prove a serious disability. Sometimes I wonder if she even sleeps at night or if she just takes adderall or something. Then I wonder if I should start taking adderall. Maybe getting off /lit/ and doing something useful would be a start.
