Those stories are so weird.
It's like cosmic horror mixed with religion.
Is this in the Quran ?

What’s the next big movement in writing at large? I’ve been really sick lately and reading the Beats. It seems to me to be a wildly good time to move and shake the canon a little bit. How can young people (and young poets) stop shitty slam poetry and gay YA novels from defining the zoomer oeuvre?

How do we deal with this world of all-pervading Entertainment that DFW articulated in Infinite Jest?

It seems that, perhaps for the first time in history, a conscious effort must be made to not be entertained. We are all being drawn into constant, passive obsession as our relationship with pleasure has become misshapen. We no longer see pleasure as dangerous, now boredom is dangerous. Meditation, more than ever, seems to be becoming a necessity. The need to make an active choice, to move under your own power, rather than to be sucked into this icy, numbing whirlpool of ENTERTAINMENT. Should we be actively looking for ways to be bored?

I'm done with life. I work a boring 9-5 job. And when i'm not working i'm alone in my room with my cat. I'm only 24 and I feel like if this is all life has to offer I don't even want to try. Are there any books that will get me excited about life(even if it ultimately doesn't end well)? Or maybe one where I can at least relate to the protagonist? I wanna live vicariously through the protagonist - doesn't matter if it has a happy ending or not as long as there are brief moments of happiness or joy throughout.

Last novel I read was Stoner and I really enjoyed it.

It amazes me that people can actually read this. I tried once and that Welsh dialect is such a fucking chore to read.
