Exactly, the pic related in my post is just a rehashing of the hero's journey. The reason the diagrams get so complex is because Peterson builds on top of them and expands the model.
See picrel for Peterson's attempt at understanding the enuma elish as a similar (albeit slightly more complex because of the cosmological scale of the narrative) structure.
