I just finished my first Houellebecq. Now that the dust has settled, what did I think of it?

Wtf I want to become a Muslim now.
It's funny how more optimistic Houellebecq is on his newer novels compared to the old ones. Submission and Serotonin end up in a brighter tone than Whatever and Atomised, almost as if he had found God. Should I read anything else by him? I've read the ones above and The Possibility of an Island. What about his Lovecraft biography, how is it?

How did he get away with writing this and not get denounced?

After seeing statues start falling and global media outlets denouncing the West, I've been thinking about this book more and more. Maybe Islam actually would be a better alternative than what we have now

I just finished reading pic related, what does /lit/ think of Houellbeq?
I went in expecting it to be some /pol/ tier fiction about Islam since the guy has a reputation of being liked by far right frogs, but he honestly portrays a pretty good future for an Islamic France, I mean unless you're a "progressive" or something.

So hold on, he's actually pro-Islam?
