Can we all agree that GR is the worst of the trilogy? Ulysses and IJ are incredibly human and moved me to tears. All I got out of GR was a few chuckles.

I am only 100 pages in, and I have no idea why everyone here shills so hard for IJ. I can’t believe I fell for the meme… I wasted all that time which I could have invested into GR

The meme trilogy has come to an end. Wallace has been shit on here for quite some time; Joyce has received scatterings of vehement criticism throughout which have escalated as of recent, and finally, the once untouchable Pynchon has been toppled from his perch. Will a new Olympus be erected? What direction do you think /lit/ will take in the next few years?

Why can't the West come up with protagonists who aren't complete degenerates? This isn't found in other literary traditions. Japanese, russian, latin literature typically feature emotionally troubled, estranged souls, yet it's only *nglos who need to make a point and walow in their own excrement.
