>reader posts passive-aggressive womanlike comment on chapter complaining about things that are explained in later chapters, calling main character retarded for not making perfect decisions
>complains about a foreshadowed plot element and calls it plot armor
>most likely drops the story
>doesn't realize that the next 10 chapters provide a huge amount of context for what happened
>won't see that not only was the "plot armor" not plot armor, but that there are other characters that have said "plot armor" even thicker than the main character did, and basically make sport of bullying him because of it
>doesn't understand that the MC's character flaws, and overcoming them, are part of the plot
Genuinely, the RR audience is pretty low IQ. I guess it's the risk you take with serial publishing though.

>writing an emotional scene wherein a character finally vents about what is essentially their guilt at surviving the deaths of their parents and other close family due to them coping with those losses as a child by attributing them to a supernatural entity that they later imagine they egged on into doing it
>scene gradually turns into a complete emotional breakdown for said character, leaving them as a sobbing mess
>main character is quite socially awkward due to an isolated upbringing and general repression of their natural emotional urges, but in this scene finally breaks down and initiates an intimate contact (hugs them and tells them it's alright and it's not their fault)
>main character doesn't necessarily believe the story, but can tell just how badly it's fucking up their friend because they are absolutely convinced that it's true
In my mind this scene makes complete sense, but because I have diagnosed mild aspergers and grew up in a household with near-zero emotional expression allowed I can't help but feel as though the break from character will seem as though it's come out of nowhere.
Basically, any tips for writing stuff like this? I've studied people for years to figure out how they typically act, especially in situations like these, but I worry it won't be enough.

The solution is simple: stop caring. We're just re-entering an era where artists have to have actual jobs besides art. Get a day job, write in your free time, give no fucks about profits or retard opinions.
