You have to understand that your own mind, which is conditioned, is not capable of freeing itself of samsara. Everything you do is a product of this conditioning and the outcome works against what you are trying to achieve. Look at all the time you've put into doing what you've been doing and see that nothing has really changed very much. Maybe your behavior has changed, which is alright, but is not the end of samsara. All of these practitioners you know are in the same boat. All trying to free themselves from themselves. It may be a noble effort, but if falls short because the mind cannot go beyond itself. Your thinking is limited and deceiving you. UG tried continuously to point this out to people. Did anyone get it? Who knows? Not my concern. It's a total letting go, a surrender, a death of an illusion.

U.G is demystifying and obliterating your spooks, "you" are being destroyed if you listen carefully. U.G is helpful, but not helpful he's not here to teach you an ism, or convert you, but for you to realize it's all futile, metaphysics is a dead end. This is not nihilism, he was very life affirming, but you either live in illusion or in his case he got out.

They're a natural process of the brain. It's not a question of morality. It's a question if you want to go around and around the merry-go-round with different tints of the same color forever suffering, miseeeing, living in illusion. Thought is an absolute necessity to function sanely in a world created by the intellect, there is no thoughtless state, if one wants to escape the dream he must realize the one who wants to escape must be questioned to discover the nonexistence of it and that it is the impediment. Being yourself is all I'm saying and few people to have walked this earth have done it.

Q: Meditation seems less repetitive, deeper than ordinary thought. Yet it is unsatisfying.

U.G.: If your meditations, sadhanas, methods and techniques meant anything, you wouldn't be here asking these questions. They are all means for you to bring about change. I maintain that there is nothing to change or transform. You accept that there is something to change as an article of faith. You never question the existence of the one who is to be changed. The whole mystique of enlightenment is based upon the idea of transforming yourself. I cannot convey or transmit my certainty that you and all the authorities down through the centuries are false. They and the spiritual goods they peddle are utterly false. Because I cannot communicate this certainty to you it would be useless and artificial for me to get up on a platform and hold forth. I prefer to talk informally; I just talk, "Nice meeting you."

>So how do I get rid of my I? And don't say "You dont need to get rid of it because it is an illusion". I know that, but knowing intellectually doesnt solve the problem.

Well there is no "getting rid of it". It is illusory, a literal phantom limb. Any act of trying to get rid of it comes from the "I". Example you have probably heard someone say "be desire less" but wanting to be free of desires is a desire. So what do you do?! Well, as UG says there is no way out! You give up essentially, your addictions must go on their own. It's a death. So, you allow the mind to operate freely without interfering. You dont try not to think and you dont add to the thinking, you just allow it, you dont give in to it. You let it function like you let your kidneys function. This is a complicated topic read the pic related

*Real silence is explosive; it is not the dead state of mind that spiritual seekers think. This is volcanic in its nature; it's bubbling all the time--the energy, the life--that is its quality.

*The Natural State is a state of great sensitivity--but this is a physical sensitivity of the senses, not some kind of emotional compassion or tenderness for others. There is compassion only in the sense that there are no 'others' for me, and so there is no separation

*The knowledge creates experience, and the experience strengthens knowledge. This is a vicious circle.

*All gurus are welfare organizations providing petty experiences to their followers. The guru game is a profitable industry; try and make two million dollars a year any other way.

*Whether you are interested in Moksha,Liberation, Freedom, Transformation, you name it, or you are interested in happiness without one moment of unhappiness, pleasure without pain, it is the same thing.

*The questioner is nothing but the answers. That is really the problem. We are not ready to accept this answer because it will put an end to the answers which we have accepted for ages as the real answers.

*Nature is interested in only two things--to survive and to reproduce one like itself. Anything you superimpose on that, all the cultural input, is responsible for the boredom of man.

>There exists only the present instant... a Now which always and without end is itself new. There is no yesterday nor any tomorrow, but only Now, as it was a thousand years ago and as it will be a thousand years hence.”

It can't be refuted, but there is a mind and he never freed himself from that "I" or self I'm sorry to tell you. Yes the lad had mystical experiences, but thats irreveleant, he took a piece of the sandwich, but never devoured the whole thing, he got permanently caught in it
