Expendable, unloved, abandoned, just another man on the streets who does nothing but arouse disgust in passerby, particularly women. But women feel that disgust with no sympathy alongside it, unless its some sort of taught sympathy if the man is black or gay or whatever else is the cause celebre of the time and place. They are unable to empathize with the man on the streets because they will never be in that position, it's impossible for them to be completely abandoned by society in the same way
