Keep notes, especially making note of elements in the book that are particularly striking to you when you encounter them. You don't even need pen and paper, just keep your phone next to you and use its built-in notes app to jot something down when you feel compelled to do so.

Avoid execessively detailed notes, especially when you're actively in the process of reading. A few lines, a name, even a single word, will be enough.
