Just re-read the first two books of Vernor Vinge's Zones of Thought trilogy because I'm a slut for intelligent space opera with a huge scale, but didn't read the third and latest book (Children of the sky) because it's set back on the Tine's world of Fire Apon The Deep which was a bit to slow and political for me

Started clicking through recommended reads by authors I've never heard of and just started Eye by Tim Black last night. They're not a fantastic writer and it shows in places, but the story is pretty fun so far. It's follows the lives of residents of a suburb in Florida who are battening down the hatches for a category 5 hurricane. The eye comes right over the top of the town and stops. People go WTF and slowly reemerge to find half the town missing and surrounded by jungle with no power or radio or phone signals, the suburb is now right on the beach and the constellations are upside down

Maybe it'll be good. Maybe it'll be 2spooky4me. Either way it's only ~280 pages
