It's funny because Wagner genuinely wanted to help Nietzsche, but the latter was so humiliated by the 19th century equivalent of being called an incel, he transformed and dedicated his entire personality into hating Wagner however he could, which ended up being obsessing over some fringe accusation of political incorrectness. In a way Nietzsche was the original polcel, down to the delusions of grandeur. I am not sure if this makes him based or cringe though, genuinely uncertain.
