Just finished this, and read the 'At Tikhons' chapter. Is there anything that discusses why this chapter wasn't just inserted in its proper place in the book or why translations never took the liberty of inserting it? I feel like this was a massively important chapter for understanding Stavrogin and his actions toward the end of the book.

Also was there something I missed about the 'pranksters' meeting at the monk Semyon Yokovlevich's place or was that just comic relief (I enjoyed it I just wasn't sure if it was some kind of filler)?

Demons thread I guess.

Would any anon be so kind as to let me know at which point in Demons I should flip to the appendix and read the censored chapter? My edition is unclear as to where exactly it was menat to be put in the book, and I don't know if it is worth reading as Dostoyevsky intended or at the end because of changes he had to make.

For me it was Doystoyevsky on whole and especially his work Demons. He's writing is bland, boring, characters are bad and hard to conentrate on, book is too long, nothing philosophicaly interesting. Just a drag of an empty story which is no story in my opinion.
