I just finished pic related and there's a bit i completely didn't get.
When Siri recovers from being molested by Sarasti he and Susan have a conversation which throws at you the idea that from the scramblers' POV the humanity is a malevolent warmonger because speech doesn't make sense to them. Yet the book starts by establishing contact between Susan and what seems to be Rorschach's on-board AI that can speak english, synthesise speech, construct coherent sentences and use jargonisms. So, ehm, what?
