You're conflating average Republican Party views with a broader range of political movements. Against Big-Government is neither Left, nor Right. It is a talking point, you want big Government here, you don't want it here. Both the US Left and Right are pro Big Government, it's just selective in where to apply it. Right-Wing tends to value the hierarchy and order, it does not matter if it is a theological set of laws or a cold, hard fascist agenda. People need people above them and below them to function in society. The left is the opposite of it. It doesn't boil down to 'muh big government' or 'muh healthcare'. Neither of those are Left or Right.

More people have read classic literature than at any point in the last hundred years. Roughly speaking. With it too have come a number of reactionary beliefs and values. It does not matter if he was a shallow pseud, the point is the results of his talks, his speeches and debates have motivated a great number of people. His current podcast work is uninspired and of little interest people. His views only rarely top 1 million. Only 3 in the last 6 month have done so, and that was because they had very heavy hitting guests on.
