/sci/ here. Both philosophy and literature are obsolete in the 21st century.

Philosophy has never provided any reliable results and has yet to make anyone's lives any better. Even more people start pointless wars over it like what happened with ww2 and dangerous philosophies like culteral marxism. Science has since the dawn of the practice saved and improved millions of lives through verifiable studies.

Literature is for people who want to live in a fantasy world their whole lives. Grow up and read non-fiction, stuff about the real world.

Learn from based Feynman, a real man unlike your S O Y boy writers and turtle neck wearing philosophers.

"We can’t define anything precisely. If we attempt to, we get into that paralysis of thought that comes to philosophers… one saying to the other: “You don’t know what you are talking about!” The second one says: “What do you mean by know? What do you mean by talking? What do you mean by you?”

>Philosophy of science is about as useful to scientists as ornithology is to birds.

Even elite intellectuals don't need philosophy to understand the universe.

Based Feynman said it like it was.
Shame the philosophers here will dispute what one of the greatest scientists of the 20th century said about scientific practice.

"My son is taking a course in philosophy, and last night we were looking at something by Spinoza and there was the most childish reasoning! There were all these attributes, and Substances, and all this meaningless chewing around, and we started to laugh. Now how could we do that? Here's this great Dutch philosopher, and we're laughing at him. It's because there's no excuse for it! In the same period there was Newton, there was Harvey studying the circulation of the blood, there were people with methods of analysis by which progress was being made! You can take every one of Spinoza's propositions, and take the contrary propositions, and look at the world and you can't tell which is right."
