Who here on /lit/ actually works in a bookstore? I want to see if my observations about my customers can be generalized or if it's just me.

>people who ask what order the books are in, and then argue that "alphabetical by author surname" makes no sense
>pseuds who brag about all the books they've read, or worse, all the books they simply own
>analbags who only want to buy first edition hardcovers
>guys who are sad and complain when we don't have any of their favourite cult authors (Bukowski, Philip K. Dick, Mishima, etc.)
>SJWs who complain our feminism or African-American sections are too small
>60 year old boomers who read only James Patterson or Danielle Steel and bring along a hand-written list of their books so they don't read the same one twice
>people who keep asking you questions about the contents of a book after you've specifically told them you haven't read it and aren't familiar with it
>people who need help remembering a book and have no details about it other than "the cover was blue"
>YA plebs who turn out the be the most friendly and pleasant customers

I am feeling very maudlin about opening my own used book store in the future. It's all I want from life. I hope to make it possible one day. Hell I wouldn't care if I went into dire straits trying to realize this dream. To just be surrounded by books and having customers come in to browse, trade, and talk about books would be enough.

What is a bookstore red flag?

I'm going used books hunting tomorrow. Thanks to all you fucks I can almost always find two or three decent books everytime I go into one but I wanted to expand my horizons beyond the lit memes so I'm taking you guys's recommendations and favourite books/authors names into account.
