According to the authors and their sources, these include five new Glass-family stories; a novel based on Salinger's relationship with his first wife, Sylvia; a novella in the form of a World War II counterintelligence officer’s diary; a "manual" of stories about Vedanta; and other new or retooled stories that illuminate the life of Holden Caulfield.

For me, it's Salinger - intelligent, nihilistic, and with a wicked sense of humor.

Because it's the kind of fake deep that's really good at convincing plebs it's deep. Salinger is the ultimate writer stereotype: depressed, reclusive, etc. True of his work and his own biography. This is a great way to convince people that you're a good writer: just be so writer-y that people trick themselves into liking you.
