What are /lit/'s thoughts are Parmenides' notion of "that it is" and "what-is"? I personally found it all very interesting (if a bit difficult to grasp at first). Who are some other good western philosophers besides the other Greeks that discuss this concept?

If anything i'd love to jump straight into Descartes but the chances of me going back are unlikely or maybe more likely as I'd have a better appreciation for it? Not sure.
