>MFW my backlog of Roman History books, nevertheless history books in general

It saddens me that I will never be able to have a comprehensive understanding of the history of mankind. At best I will be specialized in maybe a couple of periods.

As a comprehensive tome on the second World War. how does "Delivered From Evil: The Saga of World War 2" stack up?

I wanted to pick it up, but its like 1200 pages long, and I would prefer to know how effective it is summarizing the war.
